The MSC Experimentum is a proto-type of the new Mobilian Space Corps Class 'E' Space Battle Cruiser. It is 250 meters long, 55 meters wide (not counting the two side pods) and 44 meters high.
Engines - The MSC Experimentum has 5 main thrusters utilizing wave motion technology (three at the rear and one at the rear of each side pod). There are also a number of small thruster engines for use in making rapid turns in combat situations.
Weapons - The MSC Experimentum has 3 wave motion guns. One of these is a "Full Scale" wave motion gun located in the center of the front end of the ship and tied in to the three rear thrusters. The other two are "Minor" wave motion guns one at the front end of each of the two side pods and tied in with its respective side pod thruster. These wave motion guns, however, are not practical for normal combat situations. Therefore the MSC Experimentum as the following weaponry for normal combat situations:
- Two forward top mounted heavy blaster canon turrets with three canons each.
- One rear top mounted heavy blaster canon turret with two canons.
- Four top mounted laser turrets with two guns each.
- Two side mounted laser turrets with two guns each. Located one on each side near the front of the ship.
- Six forward torpedo tubs.
- Two side mounted torpedo emplacements (one on each side at the rear of the ship) each with two forward and two rear launching tubs.
In addition to the weapons the MSC Experimentum also has the ability to deploy space mines. The MSC Experimentum can also make good use of its fighters for both defense and offence in combat.
The MSC Experimentum also has all of the standard technological features and capabilities of other Mobilian Space Corps ships (see Technology Page).
Side Pods - The MSC Experimentum has two side pods, one on each side. The side pods each contain a wave motion shaft (engine on one end, gun on the other). The Pods are attached to the main body of the ship by extendable "wings". These are normally kept in while in space, but can expend up to 100 meters each to create wings for atmospheric flight.
Fighters - The MSC Experimentum carries two full squadrons of fighters (15 each). One squadron of heavy space fighters and one mixed squadron.
The MSC Experimentum also carries two battle ready shuttles, two Space Gun Boats and two long range scouting ships.
